Fans are really enjoying Super Mario Maker 2 so far. Being able to create and play thousands of different Mario levels is a dream come true for so many people. Unfortunately, not everyone has a Nintendo Switch to get in on the action, but thanks to user ClapTrap9, people with a PlayStation 3 or 4 can now get a decent Mario Maker experience within the game LittleBigPlanet 3.
In LittleBigPlanet 3, players can use basic tools to create a variety of their own games and game modes. The tools can be complicated enough on their own, but ClapTrap9, who also recreated the original Super Mario Maker in LittleBigPlanet 3, has done a fantastic job of creating a watered down version of Super Mario Maker 2, including several of the brand new assets as well.
Originally reported on by GameXplain, the LittleBigPlanet 3 version of Super Mario Maker 2 isn’t perfect and isn’t the complete version of the game. The physics are a bit off, the assets don’t always work as intended, and it can be very laggy at times. In the GameXplain video, John Cartwright is playing on a PlayStation 3, so it’s possible that playing on a PlayStation 4 could smooth out some of these issues.
According to GameXplain, ClapTrap 9 is only 14 years old, which is very impressive in its own right. Be sure to check out the original video above!
