Sony Unveils God of War Reboot at E3

Following a tremendous live orchestra piece, Sony unveiled the long-anticipated new God of War game at this year’s E3 press conference. It appears to be fairly narrative-driven, with Kratos instructing his son how to properly hunt. It also seems to be fairly open-world, which is a new direction for the series. Environmentally, this is a huge change for the series, taking place entirely in the snowy woods.

In the trailer, we see Kratos and his son fight off a troll holding a massive wooden pillar. Kratos is saved by his son, who shoots the troll with a bow and arrow. They continue the hunt afterward, as Kratos instructs his son to finish killing a deer. Though he is reluctant at first, the two of them slay the deer together.
