Splatoon 2 has just been announced for the Nintendo Switch, and all sorts of new features have been added.
New types of Inklings have been “discovered”. These squids can dodge, roll, and are all around more maneuverable. New character customization options will also be introduced – most notably are the different hairstyles.
A new weapon set called the Splat Dualies make their debut in Splatoon 2. Your Inkling can dual wield two guns, so you can lay down ink from both hands. Their coolest feature, however, is that their nozzles propel you around so you can dodge and maneuver quickly. Splatoon 2 will also feature all new special weapons, new modes, and new stages.
The game will feature not only the current online multiplayer, but local multiplayer which utilizes multiple Nintendo Switch consoles. You can play with the Joy-Con, in portable mode or with the with the Pro Controller (and yes you can still use the Gyroscope to aim). Nintendo also stated that they will continue adding new weapons and stages after launch. They will also run ongoing in-game events, probably similar to ‘Splatoons Splat Fests’.
It has been a while since the fist Splatoon has had any updates or in-game events. The last Splatfest was July of last year, so it will be nice for fans of the series to get some love again.
Splatoon 2 will launch for the Nintendo Switch during the summer of this year. I don’t know about you but I’m ready to Splat some of my friends. Until then, stay fresh!
