Despite the feelings I have towards Konami as a company, there’s a bit of an interesting announcement coming out today that starting in Summer 2016, the company will be releasing some new titles in the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game series. The company announced that a total of three new games would be arriving, with one copy coming to the Nintendo 3DS, the other coming to mobile platforms, and the third for PC.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of those franchises that brings back a lot of nostalgia to the days of my childhood, spending my allowance on those booster packs and hoping for the best to come out of each pack. The excitement of pulling that holographic card, building a deck, and playing with friends was the highlight of my childhood, and playing those World Championship TCG titles back on the days of the Nintendo DS were loads of fun. While I’m personally hoping for a new World Championship 2016 it’s definitely going to be interesting to see how Konami comes back with this. With the new mechanics and cards out, it’ll be great to see how the game has evolved from those days long past.

So come on, Konami, don’t disappoint me.
