The sequel to Respawn Entertainment‘s online first-person shooter Titanfall will feature a single player campaign. This will be a relief to many players who felt that the first game would have greatly benefited from some single player aspect. Lead writer Jesse Stern told Forbes that Titanfall 2 will take place in a “grounded, dirty, and human world” though we can still expect a great science fiction and magical aspect to the universe. He also confirmed that it will not be releasing until late this year or early next year. A TV series spin-off is also in development. Stern also said,

“The multi-player game will be even better than it was the first time around. The first game was an Xbox exclusive (initially). This one is going to be widely available, I believe on all platforms. One of the shortcomings of the first game was we just did not have the mechanism to tell everyone ‘here’s who you are, here’s where you are and who’s around you.’ We knew all the answers, we just could not deliver it.”

Titanfall was largely a success with around 10 million individual users, despite criticisms about the lack of a single-player campaign. The sequel is sure to take all criticism into account and deliver a much more complete game.
