A new teaser trailer for Spider-Man‘s second DLC, Turf Wars, has released, showcasing more of what will take place in this new story pack. Game Director at Insomniac Games, Ryan Smith, spoke with the US Playstation Blog about what’s coming with the new Turf Wars DLC.
For this DLC pack, Hammerhead is the main villain. Hammerhead was first shown in The Heist DLC last month and is now front and center for the second DLC pack in The City That Never Sleeps DLC Series. If you aren’t familiar with Hammerhead by name, you’ll certainly recognize him for his unmistakable appearance and intimidating Mob-Boss presence. His first appearance was in 1972, in The Amazing Spider-Man Issue #113.
Describing the story, Smith had this to say:
“Hammerhead has declared war against the other Dons of the Maggia, and is using equipment left by Sable International during its occupation of Marvel’s New York. Spider-Man and Yuri Watanabe will have to team up to put an end to the violence that has erupted in the streets of the city.”
Turf Wars will also feature new story missions, criminal bases, crimes, Screwball challenges, and of course trophies to hunt down for completionists, falling in-line with what was added in The Heist DLC last month in October.
The new DLC comes with three new suits to collect; Spider-Armor Mk1, Spider-Clan (MangaVerse), and the Iron-Spider Armor (Original).
In response to fan feedback Insomniac Games has added the Classic Iron Spider costume, which some fans prefer over its MCU counterpart. They also stated that they added the Spider-Armor Mk1 to help Spidey fans round out their collection of Armored costumes for our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
When on the topic of the highly stylized Spider-Clan suit, Smith added this:
“Finally, we have my favorite suit in this drop – the Spider-Clan Suit, which leaps directly out of the pages of the Marvel Mangaverse comic books. We know how much you love these animated-style suits — and we cannot wait to see what you do with this one in Photo Mode!”
Lastly as with every DLC pack, Insomniac Games has released yet another piece of promotional art illustrated by none other than Adi Granov himself. This time around though, Spider-Man dons Adi Granov’s own Velocity Suit, instead of the Advanced Suit like in The Heist DLC’s promotional art.
Let us know what you think of the new teaser trailer for Turf Wars, and whether or not you’ll be picking up the second DLC pack in the City that Never Sleeps DLC Series, when it launches on November 20.
