Activision recently revealed in a blog post that some of the more famous tracks from the lineage of Guitar Hero games will be returning for the newest iteration of the series, Guitar Hero Live. Featuring the likes of Pat Benatar, Slipknot, Incubus, Queen, and a host of other popular artists, fans of the old GH games will likely have plenty to enjoy in the next generation of plastic guitar peripherals. The full list is written down below, along with which Guitar Hero game it debuted in:

• Living Colour – Cult of Personality from Guitar Hero 3

• Pat Benatar – Hit Me With Your Best Shot (Live) from Guitar Hero 3

• Ratt – Round And Round from Guitar Hero 2 (’80s Edition)

• Slipknot – Before I Forget from Guitar Hero 3

• AFI – Girl’s Not Grey from Guitar Hero 5 (DLC)

• Warrant – Cherry Pie from Guitar Hero 2

• Incubus – Drive from Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock (DLC)

• Faith No More – Epic from Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock (DLC)

• Audioslave – Cochise from Guitar Hero 1

• Survivor – Eye of the Tiger from Guitar Hero World Tour

• Queen – We Are The Champions from Guitar Hero 5 (DLC)

• Disturbed – Down With The Sickness from Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock (DLC)

That’s quite the playlist! While I would have preferred some more songs from the older games (Through the Fire and the Flames, anyone?,) it’s still nice to see some more well-known titles join the already quite expansive track list for the newest foray from Activision into the Guitar Hero franchise. It’s shaping up to be quite the experience, and here’s hoping we see some more good news soon. Like if Slash is going to be in the game again, that’s what everybody really cares about.

The newest iteration of the track list contained in Guitar Hero Live can be found here.
