The Legend of Zelda manga series has been a long-running accompaniment to the incredibly successful video game franchise. However, there has been a rather sizable hiatus since the previous release from the artist team collectively known as Akira Himekawa. The last title to make the transition to manga was The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, which released in 2010 for English audiences.
Although there have been previous allusions to a Skyward Sword manga, outside of brief previews, none of these have come to fruition. However, Akira Himekawa has announced the release of a long awaited manga adaptation of Twilight Princess, to be launched sometime this year. This coincides with the release of Twilight Princess HD, though it seems this is a purely coincidental outcome.
The manga interpretation of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be made available via the Manga One mobile app, with no current confirmation of a physical, or an English release. Most of the Akira Himekawa adaptations have made it across to the Western market in physical form within a year of initial release, so it certainly seems to be a likely possibility.
