Volume Expansion Announced For Project Morpheus

Popular stealth/puzzle game Volume is getting a free expansion next year titled Volume:Coda. The catch? The expansion will only be available for play on Sony’s Project Morpheus VR Platform.

The game’s creator, Mike Bithell stated in today’s Playstation Blog post:

Volume: Coda picks up after the events of the core game. I’ll avoid spoilers here, but you’ll play as a new character, brought in as a last resort by the villains hurt most by Locksley’s revolution. The new campaign features 30 new levels, a new cast of voice actors adding new characters to the story, and a new VR setting as players take on the role of The Troubleshooter.

Along with this information about the expansion, it was also revealed that the entire main campaign and the full suite of user-generated content will be available to play in the enhanced VR setting. While the release date for the expansion is unannounced (much like Sony’s highly anticipated Project Morpheus,) it can be assumed that Coda will release shortly after the VR platform does.

Additionally, the PS4 version of Volume has just recently been updated with the Checkpoints patch, which opens up the game’s mechanics to provide greater enjoyment for players who wish to immerse themselves in the title without worrying about speedruns.
