Wii U Sales up 151% in Japan


Pokkén Tournament is a fighting game that has recently released in Japan and it has had some very interesting effects on Wii U sales.  According to a report, the Wii U exclusive sold 72,502 units in its first week. After its release, the weekly figure of 3,836 sales of Wii U hardware in Japan shot up to 9,644 in correlation with the release of Pokkén Tournament.

Pokkén Tournament took first place on the charts as the top selling game in Japan this week. Following are Digimon World: Next Order with 52,521 sales. In third game Tom Clancy’s The Division, last week’s top seller in Japan dropped in sales by 69% which brought it to third place with 26,208 sales for the week.
