CD Projekt Red’s Game of the Year Edition of their hit, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has a trailer and a release date, and it’s about as awesome as it sounds.
The brief trailer highlights just a few of the epic moments that propelled the critically acclaimed game to last year’s Game of the Year Award at The Game Awards and various other publications and shows.
The Witcher 3’s GOTY Edition includes all 16 free DLC updates, and both expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine to make up at the bare minimum 150+ hours of gameplay.
In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, players control the legendary monster hunter witcher, Geralt of Rivia as he searches for his estranged ward, Ciri. Finding himself in a race with the infamous Wild Hunt, Geralt must seek the help of all sorts of people from his past to find Ciri before the Hunt does.
In the game’s first expansion, Hearts of Stone, Geralt crosses pathes with a mysterious figure known as the Man of Glass and an immortal named Olgierd von Everec.
Geralt’s story wrapped up with the second and last expansion, Blood and Wine. Set years after the end of the base game, Geralt journeys to Toussaint, a Nilfgaardian duchy untouched by the war that players witnessed throughout The Witcher 3. In this epic conclusion to the tale of Geralt of Rivia, he accepts a dangerous contract to hunt down a mysterious beast terrorizing the region.
With everything included in the GOTY Edition, there has never been a better time to jump into one of the biggest and most extensive games ever created. Fans of huge sprawling open world games will find a home in The Witcher 3.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition releases August 30th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
