Microsoft has formally announced the list of backwards-compatible Xbox 360 games for the Xbox One, with the first wave of 104 titles to be made accessible on November 12. The extensive list of titles includes the complete Gears of War series, Assassin’s Creed II, Fallout 3 and many others, with the intention to build upon the list going forward.
The notable absence of Halo games, as well as the Bioshock series is being addressed; as they are slated to be among the first titles added in future updates. The full list is available over at the Xbox website, and includes a range of Arcade titles alongside the triple-A juggernauts. There’s a good deal of diversity on offer, including some of questionable choice, so you’re likely to find something to tide you over until later updates. The update will be made available free of charge, and offers the full functionality of the Xbox One, including streaming and multiplayer connectivity.
