Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Ending Theme – One Last You (Yasunori Mitsuda) Piano Cover

I’m going to be trying something a tad different today. I’ve never really considered uploading my video game music piano covers to the site, because part of me has always felt like it was too much of the whole self-promotion thing, and that it might be unfair. I’m also always nervous about the sound getting torn to shreds, someone finding something awkward with my setup which is incredibly minimalistic, or some other factor that I’d never considered. My setup is minimal because I’m going on clinical rotations soon and it’s a lot easier if I don’t have a ton of stuff to carry out in my car with me.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has been my standout title of 2018, even though it came out in 2017. A huge part of that journey was the incredible body of music that the game has, from quiet, pensive pieces to incredible improvised jazz renditions. It’s the kind of game that has plenty of music that anyone can enjoy.

This is my rendition of the beautiful ending theme of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I loved this game to death and I’ll die on my one-man hill over here of this being quite possibly my favorite ever game. I’m wanting to learn how to cover all the songs that came out of this soundtrack, it’s just that good for me. This was easily a huge standout track not just because it has vocals from the lovely Jen Bird, but because it plays at a moment that has a ton of significance in the story. It’s from the point of view of Pyra and Mythra, and it’s such a heartbreaker. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did learning to play this by ear. I have a few other Xenoblade Chronicles 2 songs in my head that I’m thinking of uploading, let me know your thoughts.
